The Best Landed Jump

[In honor of Leap Day, I present to you something written for me by my best friend Shawn on the 3 year anniversary of the day I broke my back by leaping from a staircase onto a couch.]

"The Best Landed Jump: A Tribute"

Carl Lewis set the record for the long jump in the 1984 Summer
Olympics. Evil Knievel jumped over a small parking lot of cars.

Jump is a small village in South Yorkshire, England.
Jump Little Children is the name of an awesome band.
Jump 5 is the name of a not-so-awesome band.
"Jump" is a 1999 film.
And "Jump" is a song off Madonna's most recent album.

Jumping may be done for joy. It may be done in desperation.
Dramatic jumps entertain people all over the world, whether they
are watching a film or visiting the circus.

People jump on trampolines.
Some people jump "on board."

People jump in competitions. Some do the long jump, others the
high jump. There's also the pole vault, jumping hurdles, the
standing high jump, the standing broad jump, and the triple jump.

Kangaroos jump.
Frogs jump.
Basketball players jump.
Skydivers jump.

People jump off diving boards, out of planes, from towers, into
canyons, and into water.

Jack be nimble, Jack be quick, Jack jumped over the candlestick.

But there's one jump that has changed my life. On September 7,
2003, jb jumped straight from the second floor of her dorm and
into my heart forever. It was amazing chemistry from the start.
Well, the labs were tough, but there was real chemistry. And now
there's so many unforgettable memories.

Truly, it was the best landed jump ever!
